My Focus For The Week

The lesson in Relief Society in both wards I visited was "The Life Of Christ". A huge topic to squeeze into 30 minutes. I didn't really learn anything new in either class period, but, rather had a nice review of the things I have learned over the past 58.5 years

i love that we get the same lessons over and over - because there is always more to learn, no matter the topic.

The problem may be in the instructors approach to the topic, but I find it extremely difficult to make an interesting, stimulating, spirit-filled lesson from the lesson manuel we are now using. It is a great manuel for the purpose it was created (teaching those very new in the gospel) but for me, teaching in the H.P. quorum, to men whose average membership in the church is 55-60 years, it just is little help at all. Although I focus on all or most of the topics in the manuel, it really requires additional reading, study and thought to reach those who already know all that is in the manuel and can recite by heart all of the referenced scriptures.
